Coach Information

Information on Becoming a Coach & Assistant Coach

All coaches & assistant coaches must fill out a coaching application, back ground check and possible interview process to be eligible to coach a team. In the instance there are more head coaches applying than teams available. Head coaches will be selected by a board vote based on recommendation from the youth coaching committee.

After teams are formed, head coaches are allowed to have 4 assistants on the sidelines during a game, provided those assistants have filled out a coaching application, background check and league required certification.

  • 4th thru 8th grade – Head coaches are allowed to declare 3 assistant coaches going into the draft.

  • Flag Football will have a max of 3 coaches - 1 head coach and 2 assistant coaches on the sidelines during a game, all coaches need to fill out a coaching application, background check and league required certification.

  • Assistant coaches will be from:

    1.   2nd grade – in the same school or geographic area.

    2.   3rd – 8th grade – from previous years team.


Qualifications

  • Be enthusiastic, organized and dependable.

  • Makes ensuring a positive experience for players a priority over winning.

  • Be patient, especially with the players.

  • Have a working knowledge of the sport.


Required to Complete

  • Submit a coaches application & assistant coach.

  • Successfully pass a national background study check.

  • Become USA Football Certified.

  • Complete updated concussion training.

  • Complete the "Positive Coaching Alliance" Dual Goal and/or Inside Out Coaching Courses.

  • Complete USA Football’s Youth Tackle Certification.
